The purpose of the journal is to report and disseminate new and existing
knowledge of mental health, psychosocial work and counselling in areas of armed
conflict explicit and and to make this information accessible to interested
parties in areas of armed conflict and elsewhere.
The journal will publish articles that are relevant to professionals working in
areas of armed conflict and also to others working with refugees from areas of
armed conflict throughout the world.
Subjects of interest include (but are not confined to) refugees, war victims,
torture victims, traumatic experience, diagnosis, needs assessment, counselling, music therapy, drama therapy, art therapy, psychotherapy, psychosocial interventions,
psychosocial projects (theoretical principles, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation), ethics, cultural
factors, and related subjects.
